Jonathan Mayhew

Drawing constitutes the core practice in the creation of Jonathan Mayhew’s works. Using the detritus of everyday, (newspapers, old books, record sleeves) drawings are created on and inspired from these objects, re-working/rubbing out/drawing over old, mass produced images and making them into the ‘original’ again. These drawings inspire and generate many of Mayhew’s production of video, performance, sculpture and sound performance, this interdisciplinary way of working allows a constant flow of ideas to evolve without limits.
