Kevin Mooney - Somewhere in the West
With a choice write-up in the Irish Times and a stellar opening night, Kevin Mooney's show for the Galway Arts Festival has been a massive success.
Kevin Mooney's Galway Arts Festival exhibition, "Somewhere in the West," opened to rave reviews on Friday 18 July. A very exciting time in Kevin's career, his newest paintings mark a shift in location and method from his previous works. He moves beyond the outer limits of Galway, and combines reference to traditional romantic and realist paintings with the cliché-laden, romantic, postcard reproductions of the West.
Opened by James Harold, the City Arts Officer, the exhibition has so far been a huge success. Aidan Dunne of the Irish Times wrote a choice review of Mooney's show, describing his ideas as being expressed "with flair." Mooney's show will remain on exhibition at The White Room until 13 August, 2008.
